Position Title: Warehouseman
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
Location: All elevators
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Purpose
To provide outstanding, courteous customer service to all customers, their employees, and outside contractors; while exhibiting best warehousing practices and maintaining safe and clean facilities. All activities of this position support the grain receiving and shipping functions of Almota Elevator Company.
Essential Functions
Support all elevator functions and the overall image of the company:
Greet all customers and visitors promptly and courteously
Maintain a clean and safe work area especially areas frequented by customers
Produce complete and accurate grain receiving documents and protect confidentiality of all customer/company written records and all general and specific process information
Assist Operation Supervisor with grain storing and conditioning operations
Responsible for operation of EIS integrated scale weighing of intake shipments
Comply with all company safety and industrial hygiene policies
Assist Operations Supervisor on maintenance projects as needed
Carry out facility opening and closing procedures including adhering to facility security plans
Carry out all aspects of truck and barge load-out operations
Carry out all aspects of bin sweep and cleansing operations
Essential Strengths
Willing to lift up to 80 lbs intermittently
Willing to lift up to 30 lbs repetitively
Willing to climb and descend ladders
Willing to operate various hand and mechanized scooping equipment
Neat and Legible handwriting
Willing to work in dusty and noisy environments with proper Personal Protective Equipment
Willing to use all employer-provided PPE
Possesses reliable means of transportation to all employer’s job sites
Willing to adhere to formal work scheduling and rotations of shift work and provide advance notice to shift supervisors of approved/planned vacation or other planned leave
Arrive ten minutes prior to clocking into the scheduled work shift consistently
Follow all company safety and health policies
Observe and report all real or potential safety hazards
Maintain good communication with all levels of the company
Operate main functions of all elevator locations after proper training
Observe, identify and report equipment maintenance or repair needs to the Operations Supervisor

Routine Requirements
Warehouseman must be willing to work at any facility location as needed
Warehouseman must be willing to assume any specific assignment at any facility if qualified

This job requires consistent mental alertness to ensure safety and accuracy. There is some cueing-related stress.

Requires wearing of PPE such as dust mask, hearing protectors, eye protection, gloves, hard hat, rubber boots, coveralls
Involves operating mobile equipment if trained and qualified
Grain and grain dust

Weather conditions
Environmental conditions including: spoiled grain, grain residue, chemicals, heights, enclosed spaces
Rotating shift times, extended seasonal shift hours, changing work locations

Job qualifications:
Technical certificate or High School diploma or GED
One year experience in equivalent employment or self-employment
Metal work and fabrication skills desirable
State issued drivers license required, CDL encouraged
Must be able to obtain WA Dept of Ag pesticide applicators license and education credits
Must have documented computer skills and familiarity with common computer programs such as email, word processors, spreadsheets and demonstrate typing skills through a typing test.
